An Oasis
The Golden Tulip at Nizwa is a real oasis with beautiful gardens and pool with lots of shade and views of Jebel akhdar and the Saiq Plateau behind. For those who love nature, there are lots of wonderful dragonflies and butterflies around the pool. Bulbuls, Graceful Priniers, ndian Rollers and Rock Martins fly around. and at dusk insectivorous bats put on a great aerial display. The rooms are very comfortable with large seating area and many have direct access to the pool. Food is good if wine a little expensive! the times are changing
We know this hotel since four years and this year we were very disapointed.The hotel is ageing,it needs to be renovated.All around the pool the floor needs to be changed.The water of the pool is not really clean.,some aquatic insectes inside.The restaurant is a very poor quality and now the wine is incredibly high.Before the pool restaurant that we knoew in the past was so pleasant.Last ,this hotel is noisyin the evening and morning.

Great stay
The hotel is situated not far from Nizwa, but has beautifull surroundings. For Oman very good price/quality standard. I really enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately the bars are a bit sleazy, but that seems normal in these countries. Definetely a reccomendation.

Not great value for money
Given the rate of OMR 75 per night without breakfast, it is quite high for the type of hotel and facilities. However the staff are friendly and accomodating, and our in-room dinner was delivered on-time. The bathrooms can use some attention to make them more comfortable.

Outstanding Omani Staff
It is the place to stay. The local Omani staff are the very best. Helpful, friendly and with great humour. Loo out for Mr Maazin - he is outstanding.
